Avoid Bankruptcy – Talk with your Creditors

Take a look at everything you owe and add up exactly how much it is. Then look at what you earn and work out how much you can pay off each account each month. Be realistic about it so you do not default as you do not want to go back on your word. And, make sure you factor in your everyday living expenses.

Once you have done this write to each of your creditors, enclose a payment, with a payment plan for paying off the debt. Most creditors will agree with a payment plan as they would rather get the money than spend more money chasing you for it.

Credit card companies have programs to help in times of financial burden so ask if they can reduce your payment or interest rate. You will never know if you do not ask.

Get Bankruptcy Help

If you have trouble working with your creditors on your own then seek bankruptcy advice to help you move forward. A financial counselor knows all the laws surrounding debt and the bankruptcy laws.

Even if you think declaring bankruptcy is your only option, talk to an experienced financial counselor – you never know, there may be other ways to look at your situation with better options than declaring bankruptcy.

Avoid Personal Bankruptcy – Pay Off your Debts

I know – you think it is impossible to ever pay off your debts – but take a closer look at your budget. You may even get a part-time or casual job for a while to supplement your income to avoid bankruptcy debt. Or, do you have a hobby you can make some money912431_money_problems1.jpg out of?

Take a look at what you need and you want. For example, a new mobile phone is a want not a need unless the old is too expensive to fix or is lost. Do you really need that new television or pay TV with access to so many channels? A need would be all your essentials and paying the bills.

Sell off some Assets to Avoid Bankruptcy

If you know you are getting behind on your payments let your lender know immediately. There may be something you can do. Even consider selling some of your assets to help you avoid bankruptcy. I know that is the last thing you may want to do, but if it helps you to avoid bankruptcy then it is worth it. Tell me – what would you rather – that you go bankrupt and lose everything? Or, sell a few things you can replace later on?

You have so many options to help you avoid bankruptcy. Get professional advice before it is too late.
